I collect pens, all sorts of pens and I do a lot of writing as I write to pen pals and can write anywhere from four to ten pages per letter. I actually ran out ink in my favourite pen and was awaiting it to be delivered when I was asked if I would like to try the Parker IM pen from Pen Heaven.
The online gift emporium Pen Heaven is delighted to announce the launch of Parker’s rebranded and bestselling IM pen range.
Debuting the new design for the first time, Pen Heaven offer the full collection of the elegant IM pen, with its modern revamp bringing with it some new and unique textures in a plethora of colours.
Available in fountain, ballpoint and rollerball options, the re-engineered Parker IM further accentuates the pens sleep and clean form, featuring the iconic Parker arrow on the clip, the brand’s logo on the band and a new cap design. The packaging has had a facelift too, with more prominence given to the brands Royal Warrant.
An undisputed bestseller thanks to its superb value and high-quality finish, Pen Heave present both Core and Premium models, finished with either a classic gold or stylish chrome trim.
I asked for a purple pen and a few days later I received a lovely gift wrapped box. Once I had opened the gift wrap I discovered which pen I had received. It was the Parker IM Light Purple Chrome Trim Fountain Pen and it had been engraved with my name too.
I had a letter to write that evening so I popped the ink cartridge (which was included with the pen) into the pen and started writing.
The pen has a nice weight to it and it is comfortable to hold and write with, even when I am writing ten pages. The nib is medium and stainless steel. When writing I found that it did not leak at all, not even a bubble of ink was on the nib, it was completely clean throughout the time I was writing. It did not leave any ink splodges on the paper either. I even stored the pen in its box upside down and there was no leak. This left me very impressed.
I must write far too much though as I had emptied the ink cartridge with just one letter so I will need to buy more before I can use it again.
There are 7 colours to choose from in this particular pen; Black with gold trim, blue with chrome trim, brushed metal with gold trim, dark espresso with chrome trim (gun metal), light blue grey with chrome trim, light purple with chrome trim and white with chrome trim.
My overall thoughts on the new redesigned Parker IM pen is that it is fantastic, when writing with it you can feel and see that is it high quality, it is clean to work with and the engraving on the pen makes it that little bit more special. It costs just £27.90 which I think is a good price for it being a high quality fountain pen. Engraving does cost an extra £7 and the gift wrapping is £2.75. I would definitely recommend it to anyone that likes to write with fountain pens but wants a high quality one that doesn’t leak.
