IMG_0299

We have reviewed a few Degustabox’s so far and we were asked if we would like to review May’s Degustabox and of course how could I refuse. If you haven’t heard of Degustabox it is a surprise box full of products usually food or drink and some are just coming out on the market. Each box will contain

This is what we received in our Degustabox this month;

Cawston Press apple sparkling drink in a can. I really liked this, I put it in the fridge so it was chilled and drank it one day during the intense heat and it was very refreshing .  This cloudy apple sparkling drink is made with handpicked British Cox & Bramley apples. It is only 99 calories per 330ml and is available in single cans at £1.00 or 6 x 330ml pack

Garofalo Penne pasta is made from the finest durum wheat and is really nice on its own or as part of a pasta salad or pasta bake. My children asked for a pasta bake using this pasta and so that is what I did and they ate it all up. Garofalo Penne pasta costs around £1.89 for a 500g bag.

Cirio Passata is fabulous to use in spaghetti bolognese, meatballs, pasta bakes and anything requiring a tomato sauce including tomato soup. It costs around £1.35 for a 330ml bottle.

The Cirio tomato puree is great to use again in spaghetti bolognese or as a pizza tomato base .I use it in both and it costs just £1.10 for a tube.

Hornsby’s Strawberry and Lime Cider and Hornsby’s Crisp Apple Cider. We were sent 1 of each flavour. I absolutely love Strawberry  & Lime cider so this went down very well with me. In fact this was the first thing I opened. It wasn’t as fruity as I am used to but it was still nice.

My husband drank the crisp apple cider and he told me he enjoyed it. £5.99 for a 4x 330ml pack.

Kettle Sweet Potato Chips in Sweet Chilli flavour. I personally no longer eat crisps or anything spicy but my children do and my youngest loves spicy and chilli flavoured crisps.  Unfortunately she did not get on well with these, this is the first chilli flavoured crisps she has tried and told me she didn’t like the flavour. I am not sure whether this is because they are made with sweet potato or not.

My husband and oldest daughter were not fans of them either sadly. Kettle Sweet Potato Sweet Chilli Chips cost £2.49.

We also received a £1 off voucher to purchase more, so we will be trying the lightly salted flavour next.

Taylors of Harrogate  Blackberry and Elderflower 20 wrapped tea bags. I am not one for fruit teas normally however I did try these. I made it up like I would usually but let it chill in the fridge and put ice with it so it was more like a fruit juice. It does taste really nice. A box of 20 teabags costs around £2.99.

Dr Oetker Cake Release Spray is brilliant when making cakes, it makes it so easy to grease cake tins rather than rubbing butter into the tin. Just spray around the inside of the tin and you are done and the cake will release quite easily. I really like this product and will be using it all of the time when I make cakes. A tin of Dr Oetker Cake Release Spray costs around £2.28

Lizi’s Granola On The Go is a small packet of cereal for one person complete with a spoon, just add a few spoons of water and its ready.

IMG_0307

It contains lactose free milk powder. It is really nice, I do like granola. I am not sure I could afford to buy it for every day of the week though as at £1.29 each it works out a quite expensive daily breakfast.

Elizabeth Shaw Dark Chocolate Cocoa Crunch Flutes are great to add to the top of an ice cream sundae or with a cup of coffee, to munch on where you are hungry but do not want to spoil dinner or to place in front of your friends when they come over for a chat. I used them as ice cream sundae toppers but there are lots of things you can do with them. The kids love them. A box of these costs around £2.59.

Raw Sugar Free Chewing Gum box has 18 pieces of chewing gum in it. It tastes like the Raw energy drinks so gives you a little boost too.It contains Taurine and Vitamin B. They are a soft chewing gum  and the flavour lasts quite a while. They cost around 99p per box.
