As you may have seen on my blog, I am a bit crafty, no not as in sneaky but I like to make things, knit, crochet, cross stitching and so on. I was asked if I would like to take part in Knit For Winter which is an annual campaign with Sunrise Senior Living, and this year Sunrise are supporting First Touch, a premature baby charity.
I have knitted for charity before and have absolutely loads of wool that has not been used yet so I thought this would be an ideal time to use up some of my wool stash while helping a good cause too.
I was given 2 patterns that are preapproved for First Touch, they were for ventilator bonnets and blankets and are very easy patterns to knit.
Unfortunately I do not have any chunky wool which is needed for the blankets so I have stuck to knitting ventilator bonnets.
I am a slow knitter but I am getting faster as I get to know the pattern in my head rather than referring back to it every few rows.
Here is what I have made so far…
I am hoping to get a few more done in the next week and then send them off.
Look out for the hashtag #KnitForWinter on social media to see what others have made for this great cause.
Disclaimer: I wrote this post because I think that it is a great cause. I have not been compensated in any way.
