Hello, greetings, salutations all you beautiful Stressed Rach followers! My name is Jen and if it wouldn’t make me a dirty copycat, I would totally change my name, officially and legally, to Stressed Jen. I think we can all relate.
I do a few things during my waking hours including staying at home with a child, writing occasionally for the local newspaper and watching sitcoms. I also like to write novels, an act which both relaxes me and turns me into Super Stressed Jen at the same time. It’s a paradox.
Anyway… What I write falls into the romantic comedy/chick lit genre and my first novel, Follow Me Home, is currently available through Amazon and Wallace Publishing. I hope to have my second novel released soon.
In the interest of full disclosure, I do write non-comedy, non-girly novels under another name but sometimes you just need something a little more light-hearted before your eyes. This goes for writing and for reading. Sometimes you stand before the bookshelf and decide on Anna Karenina. And sometimes you reach for that Garfield Fat Cat 3-Pack Volume Six Billion or however many of those are out.
Sometimes I open a blank document and just want to be girly, and real, and maybe a little shallow. I want to write about characters who make the same clumsy mistakes I do, speak before they think, know the tragedy that is a bad hair day and yet, somehow, make it through to the other side where they know everything is going to be all right. To put it more concisely, sometimes I just like to write about modern, awkward, women and how they (we!) deal with life.
A million thanks and then one more to Rach for allowing me a little space on her blog! And a million thanks to anyone who decides to give me a chance when they need a little light reading. I hope you get a laugh or, at least, an involuntary smile out of it. We women are all in this together…and are judged a whole lot more than our male counterparts on the appearance of our hair!
