If you are like me work outs do not sound appealing, they make me feel like I am back at school where I have to do them or in the Army. with the constant nagging of “you must do this to keep fit and lose weight”.
Just the words Work out does not sound like fun, getting hot and sweaty running around the village or the gym giggling my wobbly bits in front of strangers, Ahem no, not for me I’m afraid.
How can I make working out and getting fitter more fun but easy too? Something that will make me want to carry on? There are a couple of ways to do this, for me anyway.
I have an Xbox 360 with Kinect and have bought several dance “games” to use on it, all of the Dance Central’s and Just Dance’s. Not only do they have great much on them but a good dance work out too plus you can change it to suit you. I think these are great fun, my two daughters join in and we have a proper giggle dancing to the music and trying to beat each other’s scores.
I also have Zumba Fitness for the Xbox which again is fun, especially when we cannot follow it properly and end up in a muddle and end up rolling on the floor laughing.
Exercise DVD’s can be fun too depending on which one you get. I have only found one type that I particularly enjoy and that would be the Ministry of Sounds ones.
I have mentioned I am getting a treadmill, sadly it hasn’t been delivered yet so I cannot comment on how fun that will be yet but it does have a feature so I can plug in my iPod to it.
I like the thought of using it in my home where I am not worried who sees me wearing fitness gear with wobbly bits hanging out and I can do it at a time that suits me. I will let you know how I get on with it when it’s here.
