The whole family like yogurt and go through a lot of it every week. We were invited to review the EasiYo Yogurt Maker and after taking a look at what it involved to make the yogurt it looked very easy so it was sent to us.
We were sent the Pink EasiYo Yogurt Maker, my husband isn’t a lover of pink but as I will be making the yogurt then obviously it is my choice. We also received 2 packets of yogurt to get started; Blueberries and Cream and Vanilla Peach with Peach Bits.
After looking at the instructions I was ready to make our first batch of yogurt. We decided to make the Vanilla Peach with Peach Bits as it sounded really nice.
Getting the empty EasiYo pot I half filled it with tepid water, there is a marker on the pot so you can fill to the right amount. I then poured the yogurt powder into the pot put the lid on and shook well for a minute or two, just enough so all the powder has gone. Once shaken I filled to the top line with water and screwed the lid on.
Next I had to sort the pink EasiYo Yogurt Maker out ready to make the yogurt.. I pushed the red plastic spacer as far down as it would go and then filled to the top of the red spacer with boiling water. I then put the pot which contained the yogurt into the yogurt maker and put the lid on.
That was all there was to it. I left it for about 12 hours, the recommended waiting time is 8-12 hours but you can leave it up to 24 hours. Took it out of the yogurt maker and put in the fridge to cool.
Once cooled I opened the pot. Now it did not look very appetising if I am truthful but after a good shake or even a stir with a spoon it looked more like yogurt.
I served some into a bowl and we tried it. It does actually taste like other branded yogurts, it was not watery, it was the perfect consistency. It was delicious.
What I like about this yogurt maker and what stands out is the fact that it doesn’t make the yogurt through plugging it in but just a thermo style container. No electricity at all. I have had other yogurt makers where I had to mix several ingredients together to make a yogurt and it was a lot of hassle that I eventually gave up with it but this is just so easy, just using water and a packet of ready mixed ingredients. It takes less than 10 minutes to prepare it and get it in the yogurt maker. Quick and easy!
Since we tried the Peach Vanilla with Peach Bits in it and the Blueberry and Cream I have bought several more different flavours, Toffee, Mango, Forest Fruits and they were all very nice. All of the family love them and as it makes 1kg at a time it does last a few days.
I would definitely recommend the EasiYo Yogurt Maker to everyone that wants to make yogurt at home and it is a lot cheaper than buying pots and pots of it from the supermarket.
You can purchase the EasiYo Yogurt Maker from the EasiYo website in two different sizes 1kg and a mini 500g one too. The packets of yogurt come in a variety of flavours and regular and low fat for less than £3 for 1kg of yogurt. They are definitely worth it.
