We were sent another Degustabox last month and I had to open it straight away as always, who can resist a box that has arrived and you don’t know what you will get in it?
If you have not heard of Degustabox before, it is a monthly subscription box full of food and drinks to try and most of the products are full size products.
Green & Black’s Velvet Edition – New, sumptuously smooth dark chocolate. Green & Black’s Taste Specialists have expertly crafted this 70% dark chocolate using the delicate character and soft texture of the finest Ghanaian cocoa, balanced with sweet Madagascan Vanilla. Green & Black’s Velvet Edition is a 70% dark chocolate that is rich in cocoa content, exceptionally smooth in flavour.
To be truthful with you I do not like dark chocolate at all, I find it too bitter, luckily my husband does so he taste tested this. He said it was very rich in flavour and liked it very much.
Nestlé Cheerios Oat Crisp – Deliciously crunchy flakes made with whole grain oats and mixed with crispy Cheerios, developed to help lower cholesterol! High in fibre, low in saturated fat and containing beta-glucan from oat fibre to help keep your heart healthy.
I liked these a lot. I love oaty flakes and with the Cheerios added they were lovely, and very filling for my breakfast. They didn’t last long with a family of 5 as we all liked them.
Knorr Concentrated Stock – Our new Knorr Rich Beef Concentrated Liquid Stock is made with real beef extract and is Gluten free, Free from artificial colours, Free from artificial preservatives and No added MSG. It is suitable for a wide range of applications and dishes: Just add a few drops to your Bolognese sauce for a rich meaty flavour or simply create a rich stock for casseroles & soups.
I haven’t used this yet but I am planning to use it when I make my stews in the winter, this will come in very handy and a lot less messy than stock cubes.
Virtue Energy Water – Virtue Energy Water naturally contains zero sugar, zero calories, with no sweeteners. Our naturally sugar-free energy drinks contain the same amount of natural caffeine as a cup of coffee (80mg). Ingredients include sparkling water, natural fruit flavours and natural energy.
Three of the family tried these and none of us liked them. There was a hint of flavour but it tasted more of sparkling water than anything and we are not keen on sparkling water.
San Miguel Gluten Free – Enjoy the great taste of San Miguel beer with none of the gluten! This premium gluten free world lager has a slightly fruity aroma with gentle hints of hops and yeast, and a moderate bitterness on the palate. 5.4% ABV
My husband had this and if he were to see it was gluten free in the store he probably would have walked past it, however after trying it he has realised that there really is not that much difference in ones with gluten and ones without. He actually liked it!
Mentos Mint Mix Sharing Pouch – Mentos Mint Mix are delicious chewy Mentos sweets in a refreshing mix of Peppermint and Spearmint flavours. Available in a re-sealable pouch style bag that is perfect for sharing with friends and family.
Mentos are a firm favourite in this house, we like both flavours so these were perfect for us. I am not sure there is enough in the bag to have to share though *wink*
Dream Rice Quinoa – Two fantastic new flavours from Dream: Ancient Grains made with a blend of oat, spelt, buckwheat and linseed and rice Quinoa. With added calcium and vitamins these plant based milk alternatives taste amazing and have absolutely no sugar. Perfect on your cereal, in a smoothie or on its own.
I have not tried this. I am not a fan of rice ‘milk’ or any milk really and none of the family wanted to taste it for me.
Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna Steaks – Ranked #1 in the US by Greenpeace for sustainability, these Albacore Wild Tuna Steaks are 100% pole and line caught. Hand packed and cooked just once to retain the natural juices in the can. Please don’t drain! Mix the Omega 3-rich juices into the tuna for added flavour and nutrition.
I love a good tuna and cucumber sandwich. I know it says to not drain but I really didn’t want soggy sandwiches. The tuna was delicious and so flavoursome. I would definitely recommend it.
Green’s Egg Custard Mix – Create this quintessentially English classic to perfection with our silky smooth, delectable egg custard mix. All you need is a pre-cooked pastry base and a little dusting of nutmeg to recreate this true family favourite to perfection!
None of my family actually like egg custard so we haven’t tried this.

We received Brazilian Xinxim peanut sauce and Arroz Con CoCo Y Chile Coconut & Chilli Rice. This is something I cannot eat as I can’t eat chilli or coconut and I’m a bit iffy with peanuts now too but my husband and daughter had them. They liked them and it did actually smell quite nice.
Seriously Speadable Squares – Seriously Spreadable Squares are the perfect addition to any picnic or lunchboxes. These little Squares are so irresistibly scrumptious because they are made with award-winning Extra Mature Scottish Cheddar that gives them such a rich and tangy taste. Spread them on crackers or crusty bread for a seriously delicious lunch!
We received a voucher for this, unfortunately none of the local supermarkets are stocking this just yet, but I will keep checking as it is something we all want to try.
