The end of September bought us another Degustabox. If you haven’t heard of Degustabox before then it is a monthly subscription box full of new foods and drinks to try. I do look forward to the box coming as you never know what will be in it.
Metcalfe’s Popcorn Thins – Deliciously light and crispy, these satisfying popcorn thins are made from corn so have a unique texture and crunch. Topped with the finest Italian chocolate for a smooth finish.
We received a dark chocolate one of these. I am not a lover of dark chocolate so my daughter ate this. She said is tasted the same as other brands of similar corn snacks she has tried in the past. I probably would buy these as they are a better snack than crisps, however I would get the milk chocolate ones.
Get Fruity Bars – Get Fruity is an award-winning fruit and oat bar that has a high percentage of the named fruit making it authentically fruity. Get Fruity contains gluten free oats and virgin coconut oil with no added refined sugars, produced on a nut free site and is 100% natural. Get Fruity comes in six fruity flavours.
We received Tangy Pineapple, Coconut and Lime Get Fruity Bar. It was like eating a fruity flapjack and was very tasty. I would definitely swap a ‘bad snack’ for this as it is much healthier and very fruity.
Cape Drinks – Cape is a sparkling blend of anti-oxidant packed Rooibos Tea and delicious fruit juices with added vitamins, ginseng and natural botanical extracts. Cape has no refined sugar and is made only from natural ingredients.
We received a Sparkling Peach & Lychee, and Pineapple and Passion Fruit drink. I was not too keen on these, both the Pineapple & Passion fruit and the Peach and Lychee, seemed to only have a slight fruit taste to it. I prefer an intense fruit taste. There was a definite fruity after taste but it was barely there when drinking unfortunately.
Cirio Borlotti Beans – Cirio Borlotti Beans are picked, fresh-shelled and quickly steam-cooked in the can to preserve their tender texture and deliver an intense and delicious taste. Cirio Borlotti beans contribute towards a healthy and balanced diet and contain dietary fibre, vitamins, vegetable proteins and carbohydrates.
I’m not really sure what Borlotti beans are, and what dishes to put them into. Therefore I have not tried these yet. I am sure they will be used in one of the dishes my husband prepares soon though.
Miso Tasty Miso Soup – Miso Tasty’s Spicy Aka Miso Soup is made from 12 month fermented soybeans and rice with a hint of Japanese shichimi spice. The separately packed sachet of wakame seaweed and spring onions are the perfect garnish for this rich flavoured and warming miso soup. Miso Tasty’s authentic miso soups are vegan, gluten free and surprisingly filling for only 45 calories.
I am sure we have tried this before. I am not a fan of soup, or anything spicy and so I got my husband to try this. He said it was ok, quite spicy, perfect if you have a cold.
Hartley’s No Added Sugar Jelly Pots – Hartley’s No Added Sugar Jelly Pots are all the wibbly wobbly fun of jelly but with no added sugar. In a handy small pot these ambient snacks are a brilliant addition to brighten up any lunchbox.
My daughter absolutely loved these. She had them in her packed lunch and I think they made a nice refreshing change for her. We received 4 different flavours and they were very fruity.
Teisseire Sirop – For water worth savouring, add a dash of Teisseire Sirop to still or sparkling water. The soft and fruity raspberry taste boosted by the freshness of the cranberry flavour, gives an extraordinary experience with zero sugar. Also available in Pink Grapefruit, Lemon, and Grenadine.
This is really nice when added to water, I love both raspberry and cranberry and adding just a dash to water makes it so much better. It is a little expensive but perfect when trying to be healthier by drinking more water but don’t like the plain taste of water on it’s own.
Say YES to No Bread Chips – Say YES to no:
- Artificial flavourings and unappetising addictives.
- Empty promises.
- Photoshopped images and phony advertising.
We say YES to delicious chips. And no to stuff nobody wants. Bread Chips: natural as bread, tasty like chips.
Now exclusively available at Waitrose.
We received BBQ flavour, they are thin crisp/biscuits and full of flavour. Very tasty and delicious. I would get these again.
Mrs Crimble’s Fusilli – Gluten free corn fusilli pasta with a gourmet mushroom and cream sauce. Perfect accompaniment to meat or fish, a filling meal for one or a side dish for two.
I didn’t think this would be very nice, as I have tried things like this in the past. However much to my surprise it was really easy to cook and tasted really nice. Very creamy.
Chia Bia Whole & Milled Chia Seed Sachets – Chia seeds are tiny black & white seeds, added to foods to boost nutrition! Chia is packed with Omega 3, Fibre and is also a great source of Protein, Vitamins and Minerals. Chia’s subtle flavour allows it to be easily added to your favourite foods.
I added these to my porridge, extra nutrition is needed, especially with a baby who is quite demanding so nutrition has kind of gone out the window in exchange for something quick to snack on. I am not sure they actually work but I couldn’t really taste them in my porridge so that was a good thing.
