We recently received September’s Degustabox which is a monthly food and drink surprise subscription box.
This is what we received in the box;
Reese’s – Satisfy your peanut-butter passion with this pack of 3 incredibly delicious REESE’S Peanut Butter Cups drenched in smooth HERSHEY’S chocolate! We know it’s always nice to share, but we won’t tell anybody if you just tick into them quietly and keep them all to yourself. REESE’S – Perfect.
I love Reese’s as I am a bit of a peanut butter addict and these were just what I needed at a time when I could not stomach many foods. I have tried the Peanut Butter Cups before and they are so delicious and filling. The chocolate is out of this world. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who loves peanut butter. They come with 3 cups in each pack and cost around 85p a pack.
Mallow & Marsh – Our Raspberry Marshmallow mini box contains 3 bundles of gooey deliciousness. 100% natural, sweet and fruity, these raspberry marshmallows are full bodied and packed with tangy flavour. They melt in your mouth and we highly recommend trying at least one with a cheeky squeeze of lime.
I was really looking forward to trying these as I do like marshmallows, but it seems that pregnancy had other ideas, luckily my husband agreed to test these out. There was pink marshmallows in a pack and they did look like quality marshmallows. My husband said that the raspberry taste was really nice and it complimented the marshmallow perfectly. It wasn’t long before he had eaten the lot.
A pack of Mallow & Marsh cost around £2.00, which for the quality of the product is a good price although I don’t think we would buy these very often.
Maynards – They’re back! The two “favourite flavours” of the infamous Maynards Wine Gums are now available all year round! The 165g bag containing those delicious flavours within the range include: Blackcurrant and Strawberry and are available again for your pleasure and enjoyment. These returning Wine Gums give you a serious burst of excitement and a delicious moment of joy!
My favourite Wine Gums are red and blacks and I was overjoyed to receive a packet of them. Wine Gums are an old favourite for many people, for me, I do tend to pick out all of the black and reds and give the rest to one of the family as the other flavours are just not as good. I was in my element with a whole pack of just black and reds, it didn’t take me long to demolish them. I am so happy that they are available again and will definitely be buying more. A pack of these cost around £1.50 per bag.
Bassets – Ideal for sharing with your family and your friends, the new variety of Jelly Babies is bursting with much favoured Berry flavours including Strawberry, Blackcurrant and Raspberry. The 190g bag of “Berry Mix” contains only natural colours and flavourings to give you a deliciously soft, fruity and sweet treat. We’ve been told they are ‘Berry nice’ 🙂
I must admit I have tried these prior to receiving this bag and they are really nice, I love berry flavours, I love Jelly Babies too so Berry flavoured Jelly Babies are a huge hit, not just with me but all of the family. These cost around £1.50 per bag.
The Good Cider – We begin by growing apples in our own orchard in Spain, and when autumn arrives, we select and collect the best apples of the harvest to create our Craft Cider. Then, using traditional methods and our fresh apple juice, we create our refreshing Good Cider. It is a delicious cider with great flavour and just a hint of alcohol. Try our different varieties: apple, pear, peach and wild berries.
I was really looking forward to trying this, however I found out I was expecting and so no alcohol for me. I will have to wait until baby has been born to try it as no one else in the house drinks cider. It costs around £1.50 per bottle.
Up & Go – Up&Go is the nutritious breakfast drink from Down Under, designed for people who live life on the go. Packed with all the fibre, protein and calcium of a bowl of cereal and milk and perfect for mornings on the move, Up&Go is the most awesome way to start your day.
My oldest daughter had these as she never has time in the mornings to sit down and eat a breakfast so I thought she would make good use of this as it is a breakfast drink and would obviously be better for her than having no breakfast at all. She had both the Vanilla and Chocolate flavours, her favourite being the chocolate flavour. She said that she does feel better having them rather than nothing. These cost around £1.39 each.
Compete Energy – COMPETE Energy Bites are delicious, low calorie chocolates infused with caffeine (1 bites – 1 large premium coffee). COMPETE Energy Bites provide an instant boost to help improve your alertness, endurance and physical energy. Recommended to take five minutes before physical exercise, driving, partying or studying.
Another product I could not try due to pregnancy but my husband offered to try them instead. These were small chocolates, which looked like chocolate. He ate all of these, although not in one go and he said that they did give him an energy boost, similar to the energy drinks. A box of these cost around £4.49.
Sweet Sally Tea – Crisp and refreshing black tea with a hint of citrus and spice. Sweet Sally Spiced Tea is freshly brewed organic Ceylon black tea, with Spanish oranges, Sicilian lemons, a touch of organic sugar and a blend of cinnamon and cloves.
My youngest daughter loves ‘cold’ tea and so I let her try this. When I opened it, it was a mixed bag of flavours, I could definitely smell the cinnamon in it but also the citrus flavours too. My daughter really enjoyed this and because it is in a bottle like beer she felt quite grown up too. A bottle of this costs around £2.40.
DB’s Discoveries – The Olive Shop – Under the mist of the Taygetus mountain range in the southerly regions of the Peloponnese, where the Koroneiki and Athinolia olives grow, families gather the annual harvest for processing. The result is an Extra Virgin Olive Oil with an intense fruity aroma. Greece in a bottle, by The Olive Shop.
We do not use Extra Virgin Olive Oil often so we have not tried this yet, however it will get used when I am able to stomach cooking again. So until then it in the cupboard awaiting me. A bottle of this costs around £3.00 which is an average price for it.
DB’s Discoveries – Kent’s Kitchen – Kent’s Kitchen Spicy Szechuan Posh Noodles are perfect for lunch at the office, lunch on the go or as a snack. What’s more, this tasty noodle pot is low calorie, low fat and perfect to keep in the store cupboard. Just add water and stir well to create an authentic Asian noodle dish.
My husband has tried these before so I let him have these as I cannot eat spicy foods. He said they were nice but a bit watery and are a little on the expensive side at around £1.85 per pot.
