We received our Easter box from Degustabox a few weeks ago, I am always excited when they arrive as I don’t know what is in them. Degustabox is a surprise food and drinks subscription box that comes every month.
Here is what we received;
Heinz [Seriously] Good Sauces – The finishing touch that will allow you to personalise your meals in the way you want. A range of great tasting sauces, full of flavour and with a creamy and smooth texture that will take your meal to the next level.
We received a jar of Creamy Tomato and Garlic Sauce, it says on the jar that it is perfect with chicken. I eat a lot of chicken so I tried it as chicken can get a bit boring. It definitely spiced my chicken up and gave it a wonderful taste. No more bland chicken for us!
Piper Crisps – Pipers Crisps make “Crisps as they should taste”. They season them with flavours sourced from passionate named producers. Julian Temperley provides Pipers with cider vinegar made from various old English cider apples varieties such as Kingston Black grown in his beautiful orchards at Burrow Hill near Kingsbury Episcopi in Somerset.
We received Cider Vinegar and Sea Salt flavour share bag of these. I am not really keen on this flavour myself, although the cider vinegar does have a nice sweet tang to it. The kids shared these and really liked them.
Naturelly – Naturelly is a fun and refreshing juicy jelly snack, drink or dessert with 100% recommended daily intake of Vitamin C and suitable for children aged 12 months +. It comes with no added sugar or sweeteners and only 7g (around 1.5 teaspoons) of naturally occurring fruit sugar.
The write up states that it’s suitable for 12 months plus however the pack states 2+ which confused me a little. I gave this to my daughter as she is a lot older than those ages, we received Apple & Blackcurrant flavour. It comes in a drink pouch and is very easy to open and drink it. Well I say drink but it is in the form of a jelly so it comes out in a wobbly mass. She really liked it not just the taste but the whole concept of being in a pouch. These would be fantastic for lunchboxes.
Maldon Smoked Sea Salt Flakes – Maldon’s oak smoked flakes have a pronounced and exciting taste that contains the ideal balance of natural minerals, finishing dishes with a rich and sophisticated flavour. Perfect with fish, bread and vegetables.
We don’t tend you use salt with our meals so have not tried this.
Weetabix On The Go – With the same energy, fibre and protein as two Weetabix biscuits and semi-skimmed milk. Our delicious breakfast drinks have been specially created to bring you a great start on days when you just can’t stop. Try a Proper Breakfast. Bottled.
We have tried these before and really enjoyed them. They are perfect for when one of us hasn’t got time to sit down to eat breakfast which seems to be a lot recently as there is always something that needs to be done before school or we need to sort the baby out. We received 2 bottles in Vanilla flavour and Blueberry and Blackcurrant flavour. Both were delicious.
Whitworths – Our new Full of Super Cacao Raw Bars are crammed with almonds, flakes of coconut, chai seeds, golden flax seeds, quinoa and acai – what’s more they’re a natural source of Thiamine (which helps to maintain energy), gluten free, no soy and suitable for vegetarians.
This looked really nice but unfortunately I could not try it due to having coconut in it. I do try to get my daughter to eat a little healthier though and with the nuts and seeds I got her to try it. She really liked it.
£onepounders Chocolate Eclairs – £onepounders are a range of over 65 fabulous confections ranging from chocolates, toffees, boilings, chews, fudge, mints, gum and jellies all priced at £1.
I do love a chocolate éclair sweet and these were lovely. I did share them with the family, they all enjoyed them too.
The Jelly Bean Factory – The 75g Fairtrade box from The Jelly Bean Factory contain 36 gourmet flavours of delicious Gourmet Jelly Beans. Each Gourmet Jelly Bean is made using natural flavours, no artificial colours and are gelatine free, gluten free, nut free and Vegetarian Society UK Certified.
I had never tried these before but have tried a similar brand. OMG these are really nice, the flavours are spot on and taste delicious. The only flavour I wasn’t too keen on was the cinnamon one but there was only a couple of those in the box. Sometimes we found it hard to determine the flavours of the jelly bean just by looking at it and the image on the back of the pack as some look very similar. We ended up not using the image on the back of the box and played a guessing game with them by cutting them in half and guessing which flavour we had.
Rebel Kitchen Chocolate Mylk – Our mylks are so easy you could make them yourself. We know time is precious though so instead, we’ve done it for you. With a few simple ingredients and nothing added, it’s what we’ve left out that counts. Because life’s complicated enough and it’s time to take a stand.
So this Chocolate Mylk is dairy free, organic coconut milk with cacao. Again something I can’t try due to the coconut but my daughter is always up for trying new things. She enjoyed it. It would be perfect for those that have a dairy intolerance.
Gusto Organic Lemon Energy – An energising blend of whole crushed Sicilian lemons, Amazon guarana, Siberian ginseng and wonder herb astragalus delivering a delicious adult soft drink that delivers taste, stimulation and wellbeing. Gusto Lemon Energy is sweetened with agave nectar, apple and grape juice and is available from Ocado and all good food stores.
I didn’t think I would actually like this due to the herbs in it but actually I couldn’t taste anything apart from the lemon. It actually really nice, I’m not sure if it gave me any energy though but it doesn’t matter as I enjoyed it anyway.
Weston Cider – Pure Hopped Cider: This hopped Cider is a collaboration between Westons Cider & Purity Bewing and has a Hoppy aroma with a well balanced smooth taste.
Caple RD Dry Cider Blend No 5, 5%: Made in small batches. Caple Rd Blend No 5 is a complex dry cider which is matured for up to 18 months resulting in a crisp and complex cider with a powerful tart finish.
I only drink the fruity ciders and to be honest with you I generally don’t drink alcoholic drinks as the baby will still wake at night if he is poorly so I have not tried these.
Product of the Month
Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo – Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo brings you two incredible new flavours – Peanut Butter and Mint. Whist the Peanut Butter flavour will please those who just can’t get enough of the trend for peanut –inspired creations, devotees of classic combinations will appreciate the delicious taste of Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Mint flavour.
I love peanut butter, whether that be in a sandwich, on toast, in a chocolate bar, I can’t get enough, however I cannot stand Oreo’s. I was hoping that the peanut butter would over power the Oreos in the chocolate bar so did try it. I had a small piece and really did not like it at all. That said though my husband and daughter shared both bars between them and they both liked them.
You can get a huge £7 off your first box which will cost you just £5.99 including delivery by using this code INCVF when registering on the Degustabox website.
