Our February Desgustabox was delivered and it took me…hmm about 2 minutes before I opened it. I love seeing what goodies are in it every month and it is even better when they are surprises and this month we had a fair few treats. This is what we received;
KoKo –KoKo Dairy Free Original is a fresh tasting and versatile milk alternative made from freshly pressed coconut milk. It tastes great in tea or coffee, on breakfast cereals, in smoothies, as a refreshing, cold drink or in cooking. Plus with only 27 calories per 100ml it’s lighter than skimmed milk.
I decided to try this as I am on a bit of a health kick at the moment and have been making lots of smoothies. I used this instead of my usual mango juice and for someone that is not a lover of coconut it isn’t actually all that bad. I enjoyed it and over two days managed to drink it all. I like the fact that it is only 27 calories per 100ml too.
Heinz – NEW Heinz No Added Sugar Beanz. Great Heinz taste with no artificial sweeteners, flavours or preservatives maintaining the natural goodness of Beanz!
These tasted quite different to regular Heinz Baked Beans, unfortunately we were not that keen on these.
Kabuto Noodles – Our Vegetable Laksa is inspired by the warm coconut dishes of Malaysia. It’s completely gluten free, suitable for vegetarians and bursting with sweetcorn and peppers. Like all of our noodles, it’s made using a delicious combination of authentic Asian flavours and quality ingredients with no additives or preservatives.
My husband ate these as a snack. He said they had a nice flavour but are a bit watery. He also found they were a bit expensive for what they are.
Bebeto – Bebeto Cheese Cake Gummies and Bebeto Candy Crush Gummy Mix, delicious value bag. Fun to share with friends.
We shared both of these bags with the family. The Cheese Cake Gummies sounded really nice, but they had a very strange taste, myself and my daughter were not keen on them, my husband liked them though.
I absolutely loved the Candy Crush Gummy Mix, it is full with different gummies and they are really nice.
Blossom Hill – A fresh and fruity twist on wine! With light bubbles and natural fruit flavours, Blossom Hill Fruit Bloom is the ultimate refreshment. Best served with close friends and sizzling conversation!
We received Blossom Hill Elderflower and as I am the only one that will drink wine I had to try it all by myself, shame lol. I like Elderflower drinks anyway and this was just as nice. Different from any other wines I have tried. I liked it.
Peppersmith – Protect your smile in between brushing with Peppersmith. Sweetened with 100% xylitol, our mints and gum keep your mouth fresh and healthy all day long, with no sugar or aspartame.
I really liked the mints and gum. They are quite strong and give a big burst in your mouth when you pop them in. They do keep your mouth fresh. I liked both the mints and gum.
Coldpress – Because Coldpress juices are cold pressed, not heated, they naturally cram in more taste, more vitamins and more nutrients than conventional pasteurised juices. Coldpress 100% fruit and vegetable juices are packed with vitamins and lower in naturally occurring sugars.
We received Cold Pressed Berry Beets Juice which is a blend of apple, raspberry, beetroot, pear and lemon. When I smelt it all I could smell was the earthy beetroot coming at me. But after tasting it all I could taste was the fruit, none of the beetroot. It was really nice and refreshing.
New York Delhi’s Americanos – Our delicious Americans are top quality Guatemalan coffee beans, roasted and ready to eat and covered in delicious dark chocolate. They have a taste that is incredible, rich and intense. A wonderful pick-me-up both in the office or at the gym.
I could not eat these as I do not like dark chocolate or coffee really so my husband put these to the test. He loves coffee and dark chocolate. He said that he couldn’t eat too many in one go but they are nice and really tasty. Very different.
Diablo – No Added Sugar Diablo chocolate coated wafer 30gr. Everyone should be allowed to treat themselves once in a while, don’t you think? Diablo goodies have all the flavour, without any of the naughty added sugar, so there’s no need to feel so bad about the little devil on your shoulder with a sweet tooth.
I ate this as soon as I saw it, I am a huge wafer fan. Considering it has no added sugar it didn’t taste any different at all. I would definitely buy more of these.
Willy Chase’s Fitcorn – Fitcorn Popcorn by Willy Chase’s= Produced and supplied fresh from our farm in Herefordshire. Grown-up flavours with real pedigree. Free from GM. Free from Gluten. Free from Guilt!
We received Apple Cider Vinegar flavour and to be truthful these were very sweet and vinegary for me. Unfortunately even the gannet (hubby) couldn’t eat them.
Maui and Sons – Maui and Sons’ Banana Chips are made from one of the most delicious tropical fruits and cooked in Coconut oil to perfection. Then we coat them lightly with Belgian dark chocolate giving every chip a satisfying crunch and making them a delicious healthier gluten-free snack.
Bananas are one of my favourite fruits either fresh or cooked to dried and although I’m not a lover of dark chocolate I could not resist these. They are very tasty and the banana flavour is delicious, the chocolate is not too bad either.
