Zander is starting to get into playing with toys properly, but it does seem that he loses interest in a lot of his toys quite quickly as he is a bit of a whirlwind child. When we were asked if we would like to review the Brio Pull Along Bumblebee, I happily accepted as I thought Zander would like it.
When it arrived I opened the parcel and left the bumblebee in the packaging on the dining table, this was when Zander was having a nap. As soon as he woke up he spotted the box and wanted it straight away.
Once I had unpackaged it all I obviously had to give it to him to play with as when I asked him if he wanted to play with it he replied “ee-yes” which is how he says yes with a little lisp in there too.
He walked off into the living room with it quite proudly and sat down to investigate it.
The bumblebee is brightly coloured, yellow and black striped body, red and black wheels, red antennas, white wings and a long yellow cord to pull it with.
It is a wooden toy made from FSC certified wood and is very robust. But the best bit about this special little bee is that when you pull it along it its wings rotate and it makes a clicking (buzzing) noise, the faster you pull the faster the clicking is which is great for babies and toddlers as they seem to really like things like that.
The bumblebee is suitable for babies and toddlers from 12 months of age. Yes they chew and put everything in their mouth which we have found out and the bumblebee has had a bit of a battering since we received it and has got a few teeth marks and scuffs now, we have only had it a few weeks too but that is to be expected. However it is very well made, I do check it daily and the wheels, antennas and cord are all very secure even with a good battering.
The best thing about this toy is that Zander loves it, he gets it out every day to play with, pulling it along behind him while he is walking or running around the house. He has even learnt to say bumblebee through playing with this toy and us telling him what it is called and it is so cute when he says it.
I would definitely recommend the Brio Pull Along Bumblebee as a toy for a baby or toddler. The simple toys are always the best in my eyes.
