Looking on the internet I was surprised at the amount of pet subscription boxes available in the UK, this time last year I didn’t even know there was such a thing. The ones I have seen range from about £18 – £25 a month. I do love my dogs and they deserve a treat once in a while but I cannot stretch to that amount every month and to be honest I usually won’t buy something if I don’t know what will be in the package beforehand.
I was sent a monthly subscription box at Christmas from BarkBeats and I was amazed at the good quality items that were in the box. I knew straight away that the dogs would like it.
Inside the box was;
Plush Puppies Invincibles Mini Reindeer Toy
Barks & Sparks Gingerbread Man Treat
Farmfood Trainers Treat
Kong Squeezz Jels
Pet Munchies Treats
As I have 2 dogs they had to share these.
Peppa loves toys, Gizmo isn’t really bothered one way or the other and so it was Peppa who’s eyes lit up when she saw the Invincibles Mini Reindeer toy and Kong Squeezz Jels toy. The Invincible states that it will retain its squeak unless you have a vigorous chewer. Both of my dogs are Shih Tzu’s and not what I would call vigorous chewers but Peppa managed to kill the squeak within a day or two. This has not stopped her enjoyment of the toy as when I ask her where her little reindeer is she will find it amongst her pile and play with it.
She is liking the Kong Squeezz Jels toy a lot better, this still has its squeak a month on and is going strong. It is a jelly /rubbery type of texture and quite hard.
I would definitely recommend the Kong toy for dogs who like squeaky toys as this has lasted a lot longer than her previous squeaky toys.
The Barks & Sparks Gingerbread Man treat looked so cute and great for Christmas. I did not want to give the whole thing to the dogs at once so they got about four days of it between them. I broke the arms off one day and gave one to each and then the legs, then body and head. They really did enjoy this and it was something I had not seen for dogs before. It was quite unique.
Pet Munchies Treats went down really well with them both. They are low fat, premium gourmet tasty bites in liver and chicken flavour. There are no artificial additives or preservatives and are wheat, soya and gluten free. They are small pieces and make a perfect treat when the dogs are being good.
Finally we have the Farmfood Trainers, they are 100% beef heart and again a great training treat. They look like dried meat and I think these were my dogs favourite treats. I liked the packaging of these, they were in a cup with a lid that fitted securely keeping the freshness in.
My dogs liked everything in the BarkBeats subscription box which is good as being a surprise box I did wonder if there would be something they were not keen on.
BarkBeats offer 3 different plans, 1 month box at £14.90 + £1.00 postage, 6 month box at £13.90 with free shipping and 12 month box at £13.50 with free shipping.
I would definitely recommend the BarkBeats subscription box to those that have dogs, it is a great treat for them.
