Dove has recently launched Baby Dove which is a brand new range of baby care products that offer a complete care for delicate baby skin in a Rich Moisture and Sensitive Moisture (fragrance-free) range. The Baby Dove range goes beyond mildness to help replenish essential moisture and nutrients in baby skin. It is dermatologist tested, paediatrically approved and safe to use every day even on newborns.
We were asked if we would like to review a couple of products from the Rich Moisture range and as I haven’t tried Baby Dove yet for Zander I happily agreed as it was something I was going to try anyway.
We chose to review Baby Dove Rich Moisture Head to Toe Wash and Baby Bar and I could not wait to try them out so gave Zander a bath the evening I received them. He doesn’t have dry skin or any problems with his skin but a bit of extra moisturisation cannot hurt him especially as it is so cold and windy this time of year and skin is prone to dry out.
This is what it says on the Baby Dove Head to Toe Wash bottle;
Rich Moisture, Helps retain your baby’s natural skin moisture.
As a parent you know that bath time is precious – but did you know that after every bath a baby’s skin can lose moisture up to 5 times faster than yours? That’s why our Baby Dove Rich Moisture Head to Toe Wash is formulated with the Dove difference. The formula id pH neutral and goes beyond mildness by helping to replenish important nutrients which help skin retain its natural moisture. With its rich and creamy lather, Baby Dove Rich Moisture Head to Toe Wash leaves baby’s skin feeling clean, soft and delicately scented.
Hypoallergenic, Tear Free, Dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested, paediatrically approved.
The 200ml bottle is white with a blue press pump dispenser which is fantastic as it means you can do it with one hand which is needed when you are holding a baby in the bath too. It is a cloudy formula, I simply put my hand over the pump with my fingers hooking underneath the pump and then press. It gives the right amount of Head To Toe wash at a time so I simply rubbed it around on an already wet Zander. It lathers up lovely and the scent is really nice and fresh.
Rinsing off is easy too – it doesn’t take much which is fantastic as it saves a lot of distress, especially when baby’s and young children hate their hair being rinsed.
Once I had finished I got Zander out of the bath and dried him, his skin felt super soft and oh my days he smelt gorgeous. The scent does stay on their skin for a while and I couldn’t help sniffing him, it was lovely.
I do really like the Head to Toe Wash for its ease of use, it does exactly what it says it should and the scent is nice too.
Next bath time I decided to try the Baby Bar. Now this looks exactly like the original Dove Beauty Bar, but a slightly smaller version so I had to keep this separate from my own Dove Beauty Bar. The scent is slightly different though.
This is what it says on the box;
Rich Moisure, Mild & Nourishing.
As a parent you know that your baby’s skin needs special care- but did you know that after every bath a baby’s skin can lose moisture up to 5 times faster than yours? That’s why Baby Dove Rich Moisture Bar, with our ¼ moisturising cream, goes beyond mildness to help replenish important nutrients that help skin maintain its natural moisture. For baby skin that feels soft, nourished and delicately scented.
Hypoallergenic, pH neutral, Dermalogically and opthalmologically tested, Paediatrically approved.
So another day another bath time and for this bath we were using the Baby Dove Baby Bar. Now I must admit that trying to lather up the bar while holding a slippery slidey wiggle monster was a task in itself but occupying him with his favourite bath toy gave me the few seconds I needed to lather up the bar in my hand. It lathered up nicely, there wasn’t a huge amount of bubbles to it but just enough. I smoothed it over his skin and gave it a little rub and then rinsed it off with a bath sponge. The bar had a scent to it but it wasn’t overwhelming and smelt quite nice. His skin felt nice and soft and he smelt fresh and clean afterwards. It was a different experience using a bar with him.
My overall opinions of the Baby Dove Rich Moisture products I tried is that I like them very much, however I would probably use the Head to Toe Wash more as it is easier to use one handed than the Baby Bar is. They both do as they should, they make the skin softer, smoother and moisturised and I would definitely recommend them to fellow Mummies.
