I have reached 22 weeks only 18 weeks (ish) to go. The last 4 weeks have flown by. We have been busy baby shopping since we know we are having a boy now and also had to get a lot of things down from the loft and decide whether we were going to keep them for this baby or not.
The loft fiasco lasted all day, who knew you could store so much stuff up there. We had 2 cots up there, what the heck! Anyway completely emptying the loft we actually threw a lot of it away, why would we put broken things up there anyway?
We did have a lot of bags of baby clothes though, most were pink but there was still a lot of baby grows, vests, towels, blankets, sheets, towels, all in neutral colours. So the next day was spend washing it all, 2 laundry baskets full but this did include the new blue clothing we had bought for baby boy too.
It was then stuck in the ironing pile for about a week, while we were waiting for his chest of drawers to be delivered.
Ironing it all took it’s time but everything is now washed and ironed and put away.
We also bought the cot and the pushchair during the past 4 weeks, although they have not been taken out of their boxes yet. I will do a baby haul post soon of what clothes and little bits we have bought for him so far.
The pregnancy seems to be going very well so far, my bump is growing, the photo below was taken last Monday at 21 weeks.
Having an anterior placenta, movements stated decreasing and I did start worrying as I had felt him quite early on but thankfully for the last 2 weeks he has been kicking harder, I can feel it most of the time and he kicks a lot every day. When I don’t feel him I still see my belly moving and getting little prods so all is good.
One thing that has been a bit of a burden is my hips and pelvis. The past two weeks I have been having pain in my pelvis, almost feels like I have been kicked there and is bruised. It makes it quite painful to walk about sometimes. My hips also cramp a lot at night making it difficult to sleep, and toilet trips are fun when they cease up.
I had my Anomaly scan last week at 21+3, now scans are exciting normally but this one terrifies me as they look at everything and can pick up problems. It had been worrying me for weeks and the nerves were certainly showing the day before and the morning of the scan.
Thankfully our baby boy seems to be perfect, he is measuring bang on too. I do think this scan is a bit deflating too though, as the screen is facing the sonographer the whole time you barely get to see the baby, I think my Rog got a better view of it than me. But knowing he is okay is the main thing.
So all in all everything is going as it should. We have a midwife appointment in 2 weeks and then in about 5 weeks we are having a 4D scan which will be a lovely experience.
