1st Fone Great for Kids

We were asked if we would like to trial a 1st Fone which was a perfect introduction to a mobile phone for my six year old daughter. We are all technology mad in our home and with my older daughter not being at home all the time now I thought it would be ideal for when a little sister needs to talk to her big sister.

Upon ordering the phone we could pick which design and style we wanted, my daughter chose pink leopard print. I was able to choose whether I would like the 999 button on it or not, I chose not to have that as I know my daughter would probably try ringing it. We could also choose which numbers to add to the phone so she could only call those numbers and each number is under their name so she doesn’t have to remember numbers. After thinking about it we decided to put the home number on it as well as Mummy, Daddy and Tiffany her sister as they really are the only numbers that she would need. She also wanted the phone to be personalised with her name.

When the 1st Fone came I was impressed with the small box it came in and how child friendly it was. It was exactly what we had chosen. The 1st Fone is light weight and has a strap attached so my daughter can wear it round her neck. All of the buttons are quite big so easy for her to press them.

On the back is the pink leopard print and at the bottom is her number and a shut-down /on switch.

1st Fone

My oldest daughter stayed away from home for a week and my youngest daughter was missing her and wanted to phone her before school and just before bed every night. As she had my oldest daughters number on the phone she tried ringing her, she did find it a little difficult at first but once she got the hang of it she found it easy to use.

It is a great little phone for kids, as technology is advancing and children want mobile telephones earlier in age it is a great start to the mobile phone world but it is also safe as she cannot dial any ones number except those already displayed on the phone.

The only downside to the phone I think is the price of the tariffs, I think £7.50 a month is quite expensive for 50 minutes talk time per month when I can get internet, 2000 minutes and 2000 texts for a little over that price. 50 minutes doesn’t really last that long especially when the girls start yapping! Also the coverage isn’t that great. We could not get a signal at certain places.

All in all I think it is a good little starter phone and my daughter loves it.
